German Shepherd Dog
German Shepherd's are energetic, strong,
agile, protective, loyal and reliable. You will find they
are easy to train, enjoy pleasing you and fit extremely well
into family situations. They love companionship and
thoroughly enjoy interaction with the family.
Breeding has become very popular with the
German Shepherd and we strongly advise you to purchase from a
reputable Breeder and not one who has no Kennel Club Schemes
completed. For the welfare of the breed we need to make
sure we purchase from Breeder's that are improving the breed and
not exploiting it. Temperaments have been seen to be more
nervous and aggressive, again this is not the case of the German
Shepherd, they are confident and will only stand their ground if
required, again look to a reputable Breeder.
Remember these few things; you need lots
of time to be with a puppy, teach it to be obedient by going to
local training clubs, teach it early to be handled gently, ask
the Breeder you purchase from any questions that you need
answering. Any puppy is with you for it's lifetime and a
huge commitment on your part.
Things you can do with a German Shepherd;
obedience, agility, conformation, heelwork to music, working
trials. Lots of things for you and your dog to enjoy
together. Remember that the Kennel Club have a Junior
Scheme for under 18's that your children can enjoy too.
